Nice shot! I don't think that there is a prettier colour than that of the new needles on a pine or fir tree (in Washington, of course)

This is lovely. There was a fashion here years ago for DWARF conifers, that is, very slow growing ones. Some folk failed to realise that most of them would eventually become quite large, albeit very slowly, and now regret planting scores of them in a small space!

the light on the young shoots is gently luminous, and the background is a quiet sea, showing the younger trees what they'll be like one day. One Native American tale tells that when someone was about to cut down a tree, the tree shouted to all the other trees: "Watch out!" And then the cutter would cut a different tree entirely...why a different one? Because when the first tree shouted, "watch out," the other trees surrendered themselves, and therefore they could receive their fate with open heart. Just showing the reverence they had for the wisdom & power of trees...The knots & towers of your background trees strike me as elders looking down on the youngster upfront; and the youngster, all lit, is happy to pose for your camera. Gentle & delicate shot, and filled with the light that only forests get. Very restful, and the shoots are beautiful.

Fantastic work and it raises an interesting philosophical issue as well...how humble are the beginnings of most large endeavors? Tiny things always tend to grow or have massive consequences. As for the image itself, I love the use of light here, the details, and the wonderful way in which foreground and background play so well together! Great work.
