Description
Lookin back
Hindsight is always
Perfect
Seeing things as they
Should have been
Knowing things
I didn't know then
That I know
Now
I probably
Wouldn't change
A thing
Not a freckle
Even though
They hurt
Beyond belief
Made me
Cry and howl
Rant and rave
They also
Let me
Love
Live
Learn
And hope
For these
Crazy things
Stupid
Dumb
Silly
Sometimes not
So bright
Taught me
Helped me
As I walk
Down this
Road of life
Watching
Seeing
Discovering
Every step
Of every mile
I find some
New thing
And heaven
Knows
I'm walking
A lot of miles
These days
Given that
It must mean
I'm getting smarter
And smarter
All the time
I sure hope so

I very, very rarely look back but this captures how it feels when I do so.
Lovely.. No looking back whats done is done.. Excellent writing and capture..
MARVELLOUS! Edith Piaf eat yer heart out.
Interesting photographic analogy in this picture. This boardwalk with handrails leads to a vanishing point. Your words lead to a vanishing point over your shoulder but the unseen picture ahead of you leads to infinity.
Excellent job maz!
the miles teach us to walk learn in stride and forgive the regrets wonderful work warm hugs, Linda
excellent
lol we should be getting smarter as we go but I am not to sure about me. this is brillant writing my friend,
lovely written x
Most profound reflections in this composition, Maz! These are not his exact words, but Satchel Paige once said, "Never look back, because something might be gaining on you."
Wonderful place and excellent poem!
Excellent work, my friend. This is well done! It's good to look back Not in regret For choices made But in affirmation Of lessons learned If we never look back With new perspective We might miss The whole point
WOW - excellent work Marilyn! I had the most wonderful and very spiritual weekend and these words touch me deep! :)
wow, you brought out great responses, even contradictory responses—which is the nature of the journey you write about...shows you did your job! Bill made a great comment on the photo, and it's wind into infinity, and tara wrote a wonderful poem-response (which I agree with) and Andrea sends Edith Piaf to the next universe (& I wouldn't mind if that happened!) (ok, she's good, but she gets on my nerves after a while)...but your poem is simple and to the point and it contains all the contradictions as part of the whole; and no solutions, just revelations. Solutions are too small. Along with your image, it's a fine shapshot of your journey right now...I remember a session with one of our teachers and we were asking big questions about the meaning of life, and when we were done, Doris, an ojibway shaman said, "are you finished?" and we said, "Yes! What are your answers?" And she looked at all of us calmly & said, "I have no clue..." She waited while we gaped at her like "excuuuuuuuse me?" And she said, "take the journey first, then come back..." Fine, true piece, and love that you spurred off a nice mini dialogue here...
