Description
Its 1908. Think about it. Only weeks after a... (ahem) "comet" explodes and devastates a huge swath of forest in Siberia, the battlewagons in "Teddy" Roosevelt's Great White Fleet are weathering a ferocious typhoon on their journey to wave the flag in Asia.
If we use our imagination, the World's public would be the last to know if the fleet's peaceful itinerary concealled a more urgent purpose...? Nor indeed that the visit shortly afterwards to Amoy (modern Xiamen) in the Formosa Strait involved a covert visit to an ancient temple to find... Well, obviously we don't have the security clearance to know what they found. ;-)

Excellent composition and great "sea storm" effects. Been there, done that, and it ain't fun. Nice to look at though.
Only a few years after the Battle of Tsushima straits. There's another pic idea for ya..;) likes it.
I've seen em burried even deeper in the sea than that... old war news reels etc... get rough seas and high winds... and she'll indeed look more like a submarine than the surface ship she's supposed to be... very nicely done!
