Description
From "Black Ships" to "Great White Fleet" in, say, half a century... I've been experimenting with water terrains in Bryce so decided to put the recently released USS Minnesota (Chris's WW1 ships) through its paces. I really like models that fit a Pacific historical scenario. So here it is to show my appreciation for the effort involved in making it. Looking up contemporary photographs of the "Great White Fleet" circa 1908, brought home to me how much of a blanket of smoke and soot, (sort of a private Greenhouse effect), accompanied these pre-dreadnoughts around the ocean- which is the effect I'm trying to get across here. Not exactly the stuff for a surprise attack. Its a memory-hungry model, so I've used Photoshop to add the rest of the squadron (from additional renders) and Painter 8 to add all the smoke, wake etc.
