You have to know, you're one of the most intelligent, thoughtful &
heartful photographers I know
and I can't
tell you how much I appreciate your care & heartfulness:
When I watch you stalk around those plane museums--
with all their dark & constricted spaces--
I marvel at the sweep & majesty you capture, the intelligence of your choices,
and your inimitable light which makes the planes seem as if they fell out of heaven.
Or how you capture real birds with the most delicate ease
zooming-in for landings, rifling through seeds,
eating in the most difficult positions, or just posing like gods & goddesses
like they were posing for a family portrait...
AND:
You remind us that the Midwest is beauteous & varied (yes!)
and share wonderful shots of massive cities & beautiful farms
or your amazing Vietnam pics (!)
or your writings--where you've shared some deeply moving journeys--
or your comments, which treat us all with constant respect & love,
even helping people buy the right camera
or doing research when the artist needs to know a fact or check a background...
In short my friend, you are one loved person around here!
May you come back like the sun you've flown into countless times
and have a deep & peaceful recovery along the way.

Mark this is such a stunning and moving dedication to your friend. So sorry to hear he is going in for surgery and I'll put him in my prayers and visit his gallery. It's times like these when we can best tell who are real friends are and in that regard you have come shining through as you always do. This image is filled with beauty and hope I think and the light streaming down makes it truly inspirational.

Mark, this is like being the recipient of a Distinguished Service Cross, one step short of the Medal of Honor (MOH). First, I'd never pretend to be there with MOH recipients...and secondly, many receive their honor posthumously and I hope not to be in that position any time soon. But you nonetheless do me great honor here. Everyday I marvel at the talent of all the Renderosity members in all the galleries and appreciate the feeling of artistic camaraderie shared by all I know and indeed, those I don't know but have observed uploading and commenting over the last year (I became a member on Aug 11, 2008). As to your piece, "Flying Into The Dawn", it coveys many things I love about flight, movement, altitude, air currents, layers, winds aloft, fluids, clouds, and always sunlight...warm and strong. Having the priviledge of knowing some of the steps you go through over a period of hours to paint a scene like this, I appreciate all of the creative effort and heart you've poured into this work...and wow, this time, it is for me! Your words concerning my gallery are too kind. Your gallery comments are a highlight for me anytime you visit and I appreciate them as they come from a trained artist who has my utmost respect. I could go on, but all of us here know of your great talent. My hat is off to you my friend. Bill (bmac62) For those of you who don't know what I am doing next week...it is time for a new heart valve and one bypass. Heart is in A-1 shape but a bum valve (hardning) restricts blood flow to about 25% of normal and renders me short of breath with any exercise. New valve yields a new lease on life for about the next 20 years! I'll take that:-) Thanks again Mark!!!

This is absolutely spectacular! I can almost feel what it must be like to be flying a plane, seeing this view. You know, I've never thought it would be fun to be a pilot, but when I look at this image, I can see the attraction. What a glorious sight! I love your dedication for Bill.
