Description
Another shot from MooseRidge Gardens.
In the Japanese Garden there is a tea house, and on a wooden shelf sits this tea set.
This image was perfectly sharp, but needed a little extra ... je ne sais qua ... in order to be what I wanted it to be. Hence the postwork. I liked it a bit better with the painterly vibe to it.
You can decide for yourself ...
..........
I don't EVER change my images once they're posted, no matter what anyone suggests. However ... today I've made an exception. I loved Ronnie's idea of putting a little bit of text in the corner. Thanks, RJ! You're the best! I like the balance the characters give the piece overall.
I left the thumb without the writing, so you can see it both ways if you've a mind to.

Lovely image.
nice still life !
I agree with babuci, this has a painterly feel to it. Very serene. And the postwork really works well.
nice lighting
Lovely! Excellent postwork Tara!
Yes I agree with adding words....nice image...well balanced
your postwork makes it look like crackled or textured glass (it's natural), and there's a beautiful crack-line in the wall behind. Very restful hues & light in your capture, and yes, the calligraphy is wholly natural. In Oriental paintings (I'm sure you know this, but I'll write it anyway lol), the calligraphy is poems or short sayings, even tales, spurred by the image. And because the calligraphy is so organic, it usually feels like nature growing on the painting. Imagine someone writing Roman alphabets on a Rembrandt or Georgia O'Keeffe: It would be jarring. But not so with oriental calligraphy. It's an art added to an art...Nice choice, a fine image all around.
I like the style, excellent capture and work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cool and sophisticated
