Description
Aces & Eights (for Mike, Richard & Linda)
There's no doubt I'm still sparked by visions of the Old West.
And what better products to set this off than
that of Mike(Mapps), Richard(Richardphotos, and Linda(LmWolfSpirit)
WILD BILL HICKOK, aka James Butler (Wild Bill) Hickok,
was shot through the back of his head while playing poker
on August 5, 1876 Wednesday about 3 o'clock
by John Mc Call who was advenging his brother's death.
This occured in the #10 Sallon of Nuttall and Mann in Deadwood, South Dakota
It is said Wild Bill was holding what later was to be known as the "Dead Man's Hand".
The "Dead Man's Hand" is now concidered a two-pair poker hand
of aces and eights of both the black suits.

Beautifully done!
Cool scene and atmosphere :)
Nice work!
I always enjoy a ' good Western ' and this is a superb scene to observe - I like the reflection of everything in the window !
I'm sorry I almost missed this dennis...I love the western days and sometimes feel like maybe in another life I lived there...this looks really real too...can just imagine the player piano playing in the background, the laughter, the doors swinging as someone enters or leaves...yeah, I think I would have loved those days..excellent work Dennis!
Really great Old West scenery and theme. I like your setting and characters, good job.

Dont know why but have not been notified of your postings. Love youve done here my friend; let me look did you post this under historic? Yep. Good stuf really and lots of atmosphere and detail in this one.
Wonderful work.. in black jack you split them and double down, but that doesn't seem to be the game here.. Nice work.
Yes, love the feel of this ol'west image too! Outstanding work!
Thanks for the refresher in Western lore ... a most wonderful render.
Excellent scene. I love the smoke-filled room and the setting is great! Very natural poses on the cowboys, especially the one who is determined to set things straight. I hadn't seen you posting and like myself, I hadn't posted any new artwork since July of 2009, I got busy in another area of my life for a few years, but I'm back posting now as much as time will allow. Hope to see some of your work when you can and you have a nice rest of the week! —Rich
