Description
This is a variation of my last attempt with working with functions. I never could restrict the displacements the way I wanted, even with distribution shaders. But thanks anyway, John (WeeLaddie). Instead I decided to simply cover the ground with two populations of brush clumps and one fake stones layer. That somewhat hides the irregular formations, or at least distracts the eye from them.
The planet in the sky is my own construct using merged terrains. In “space” it resembles Mars. And the clouds? Thought I’d experiment with a voronoi – perlin mixed noise function on a cirrus layer. They’re weird, all right. But then, consider the source.
Rendered 1 hour, 23 minutes, 11 seconds as is, no postwork. Thanks for looking in!

The clouds have a MojoWorld feel :-) In fact that goes for the whole landscape. Take it as a compliment!
Yep, I have to agree with Andy: Very interesting work though. I like!
Very nice work. I like those cool rocks. Well done.
WOW OMG everything is so very wonderful brother and that SKY well WOW how awesome can it get, killer SKY share that TGC file with us on the Sky? Easy 10 /winks
Full size view is a must. Love the surfacing and tree placement in the foreground. The rock formation is Colossal. Excellent work
super images!
Very cool...still working on my new computer set-up...maybe someday I can play with TG2...:(
cool displacement work!
Yes, very Mojo looking. Good work.
Many kudos to you Rich, this is looking mighty, mighty fine! I'm glad to see you doing so well. This TG2 makes one who has had a lot of success with TG9 look like a beginner (like me); but, with some perseverance, success will eventually be achieved.
Excellent render!
Love this image Rich ! Love the rock formations, love the moon and in fact everything else about it ! Perfect !
Fabulous rock formation and excellent, inspiring TG2 work.
This looks fantastic
Outstanding work!!!!
I think we have a winner for the name "Chocolate Hills" instead of those in the Philippines. Really Cool Stuff Rich!!!
In the land of giants!!! The middle mount looks like a face. Not being odd but that's what I see Rich. Outstanding formations.
