Description
This old dame, The Zeila, ran ashore on the coast of Namibia in August 2008. She was apparently sold to an Iranian company as scrap metal and on her way being towed, she broke loose in a storm and ended on her belly about 60-100 feet from the shoreline! So much for that idea! As this is cold water, no coral will be growing on her, so I guess she is just good for seabirds to nest and poop on!!!
Thank you for popping in and for your valued comments and favs on my upload of the little bridge yesterday!
Take care!
Hugs, Carin xx

Excellent shot, well done...
Gorgeous work Carin, beautiful image my dear friend.
Great shot. 5+
.....then it serves still another good purpose! wonderful and interesting shot!
I remember that ship and actually took a couple of pictures of it myself, lol. This ship will add santuary to goodness knows how many different spieces of fish and will be covered in marine life in no time... probably be a snorklers paradise!!! Love the photo...love the photographer!!
Great Capture!!!
great capture, nice that you got a cool shot but its a shame it didnt go down in deep waters out of sight out of mind. It is going to be a sorry sight in years to come if they dont move it.
Really great work Carin! Love the post work!
AMAZING PHOTO!
very special photo ... excellent !
Fantastic shot!
Ominous and mysterious are words all rolled into this excellent photo of weather, water and wreck.
She should still make a good reef, our wrecks here in England are covered in interesting stuff!
An excellent and interesting shot Carin.
Great shot, the postwork adds to the overall feel of disaster. And how wonderful that eventually, it will be home to all kinds of sea life--nature does reclaim herself, dosen't she??!!
Really an impressive scene, great!!
Kind of sad, isnt it? But a very excellent capture. :)
Wonderful mood and contrast, the dark stormy skies and choppy water! Excellent! Great shot, Carin, and I'm sure many little sea creatures will find a home here.
It's very picturesque; and you've gotten a lovely capture.
Also good for photogrphers. You did a great job capture a 'hopelesness' of this giant.
Very nice capture! May the seabirds poop well!
It does make for an exciting photograph.

Superb and very fine postwork
Wow, a real masterpiece of seascape. Great color and composition. Well done.
Good heavens, with the turbulent waves and ominous clouds, I thought this was a painting at first. Not exactly the Good Ship Lollypop, eh, Carin? Stellar POV, clarity, textures and mood ambiance in this capture.
fantastic shot ! and very interesting
Stunning capture Carin.
Well it looks like it also will serve well for photographers. Neat setting
