Description
As the title says Just Some Weird Bug, Shot hand held with a canon 100mm macro lens, I was trying to shoot ants on my sand heap at the time when this strange bug passed by, he was about three times the size of the ants, If anyone knows its name please let me know.

Very cool stuff. Looks like a long-horned beetle. Clytus marginicollis. Bug Guide has what it looks like to me here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/13934/bgimage
great capture...
Outstanding macro and great detail. Dana
Outstanding detail and a gorgeous insect. I have no idea what it is, but from the general but I love the image. Fantastic and intriguing markings.
Brilliant pic! Nightgallery is very close, it is Clytus arietis, the Wasp Beetle, which is completely harmless.
