Description
Hi all! You guys might remember me posting some photos back in January of The Southern Star Observation Wheel.
UPDATE: Shortly after we rode it it was closed down due to being structurally unsafe. It still sits in limbo to this day. Even though the carriages have been taken away, its still a striking image IMHO. The story goes that the steel reacted badly to a record heat wave, but others say it has always been a disaster waiting to happen. Unfortuantly, the people who staffed it during it's short lifetime all lost their jobs.

fine pov and colors ...
Striking! Design faults in many things these days, sad that people had to lose jobs with no fault of their own!
Stunning capture.
What a story...that is now a big pile of steal without a purpose isn't it!
supeer capture!!! sad story!

Wonderful shot and POV!
Very nasty demise indeed, I was hoping to take a flight as they say! even in the absence of the carriages it's still a very striking capture!
Well seen. Spectacular capture!
Impressive! Sky.....yours? Cool though. I like it. Much more bulky looking than the London Eye. May have been some of the problem....weight? Rob.
Such a lovely image
Thanks for the comment. what a complex structure in comparison with the London eye. Great shot
