Description
The Grunge War continues!
I'm not refering to a competition between artists, or a tug of war of images, but to a war that's wholly mine.
I just can't make up my mind about grunge!
Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't, and it's not the way people use it or if they do a good job. (You're ALL doing a really good job with it!) It's just about the look.
Do I like grunge? YesNoYesNoNo. There you have it ... my definitive answer!
.....
Oh, btw ... This is the wisteria garden at the Arboretum. There are several wisteria plants of great age (notice the trunk winding up the post) and I bet when it's all in bloom, it's a spectacular sight!

I think you're doing an awsome job!!
Beautiful photo!
I have to say..... NO! Sorry! I would love to have seen this picture 'as was'! Before 'torture!' Very sorry Grunge Fans and Tara! rob.
In general i love photos quite as they are... and how i´m used to see from you:trully masterpieces...but i think that the resoult in this one is good and this picture looks beautiful all around:))
Very well done.... Aloha
A very decisive and divided decision..so to speak..:) from a personal viewpoint..like the more purist approach better in most cases..
I like textures of all kinds of photos sometimes.. including grunge ..this is very good !
Not sure about grundge but i like this shot
isn't it amazing, I think Shari was just casually introducing "grunge" as a fun way of layering photographs. And all of a sudden people are jumping in and bashing things around, liking & disliking what they got, and getting into big discussions! I assume what Shari wanted, but she did it so it would stay fun. And it is fun! Bill spoke of the "dirty window": Well in that sense, this is truly grunge. (My efforts really weren't grunge btw, I was just blending & calling it grunge & stealing a ride on this train, lol!) This has the semi-dirty feel of grunge; and Chip got it to the tee: an antique feel on antique paper...the shot itself is really fine, btw (would love to see it alone), and your layering created a colony of little creatures and microorganisms. I think this is wholly successful and true to the challenge; and I'd accept it as a fine example.
Wow, you've created quite a grungy discussion with your post. Which is good, discussion is always helpful when deciding a point. While I think you've done well here with this shot, I agree it isn't always workable on all pictures. And I think one has to go for the "less is more" philosophy for a really well grunged shot to work. So, there is my two cents, for whatever it's worth. : )
Fantastic find, excellent capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
