Hi everybody:)
This portrait started out as a test. I was messing around with the SSS(sub surface scattering) in DAZs Elite shader. I made a cool SSS map in photoshop which gave more control over which areas were more translucent. And i think it went well. hehe.. although i swear the test renders looked better than this.
The other thing about this image is i have not applied any AO(ambient occlusion) because it was taking too long to render. Im curious to see what you think of the result.. I am currently rendering an AO map that i might add and post when its done :D

Nice render!
very beautiful though I would prefer it with AO John. You know , you can switch Raytrace off for hair for example, which reduces rendertime a lot.

This image is excellent in its texture detail, the chin and jaw side's seem to me a little on the light side compared to the centre of the face?, but all in all excellent sss work 10++ .

It's the lack of shadows and minimal AO that makes it seem less than excellent. Withotu those, images appear flat. But you got the bump looking good and it definitely looks like outdoor lighting. How was the render time? I don't use DAZ studio.
the render time was only 1 hr on this at 2000x2000pxl with AO turned on the render looked like it was gonna be around 10hrs.. i cant wait that long ATM hehe.
