Description
I dug this image out of my archives after Clive motivated me with his guinea fowl upload a couple of days ago. This was still taken with film and scanned. I captured this beauty in the Kruger National Park here in South Africa. Guinea fowl are fascinating and I just love the colorful heads and the spotted feathers... They might not be the prettiest but they do turn a head or two!!! LOL...
Thank you for popping in and for your wonderful comments and favs on my upload of the Namibian dusk last night!
Stay well!!
Hugs, Carin xx

Carin this is a lovely image, they are beautiful birds aren't they!
very good shot!!!
What a charming creature--the spots on his wings look like the inner workings of my computer!! (I wonder if he can fix it when needed??? lol)
Very interesting. A guinea fowl must be in the same family as a turkey from the looks of the head and neck. I've never seen one in person or in bird :-)
They are kept here as ornamentals, they do appear to have very tiny heads! This is a lovely 'action' portrait, Carin!
what a beautiful bird!!!! Fantastic photo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stunning capture babe... Love the photo..Love the photographer!
I just love the feathers on these birds; excellent capture, Carin!
cool looking bird and a big one at that, can you eat them do you know?:) there i go again thinking of my belly. great capture and natural looking excellent image for a scann you must have did it at full res.
ALTHOUGH I PREFER TO WATCH THESE BIRDS, RATHER THAN EAT THEM, THEY ARE ATEABLE. THEY ARE SAID TO HAVE THE TEXTURE OF CHICKEN AND THE TASTE IS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN CHICKEN AND TURKEY. I LOVE THE PLUMAGE ON THIS SPECIES. P.S. THEY MAKE GOOD WATCHDOGS, TOO.
Well I think it is super pretty. What an amacing feather splendour it has. Wonderful sight.
What a great capture
Beautiful :)
Ok, I've seen more glamorous birds but none that have such a look of competency and pride. Fabulous pov on this and amazing work with film.
Great shot of this lovely fowl.
Wonderful and very creative work
Nice shot, they look so vulnerable running around on the ground with all those big predators around don't they.
Very wonderful shot!
One of those curious yet endearing game birds who are very adaptable it seems I came across a flock of wild ones here in the UK some time ago
Yes, I'm forced to agree with you that these are not the prettiest fowl on earth, but you did a magnificent job scanning and preparing this film foto for our consumption, Carin. Love the feather textures.
there are some in Las Vegas outside of a casino. they are beautiful birds as well your shot
excellent shot of this beautiful birds..
Great capture and although it is a scanned photo, super detail. Dana
Wonderful capture! And just look at all those spots. I'm going to have to discuss the possibility of our birds getting more interesting markings up here!
