Description
This is the 3rd and last image in this short series showing male Widow Skimmers.
The bluish tint in the wings was a surprise when I downloaded the image to the computer. Those patches should be whiter. I assume the difference is because, for this shot, I deliberately let my shadow cover the Dragonfly. I seldom do this because this often causes them to move, but I was trying to prevent over-exposing the light colors of the twigs and still get enough light on the subject. I have not yet figured out how to adjust my camera settings so this problem can be avoided. This was taken in late afternoon with direct sunlight coming from a low angle.
Tomorrow I will start a different short series.

I hope you are becoming happier with the new kit.
Just a Wonderful Image, great shot.
Very lovely capture. Gorgeous colors and details.
Like it. You could use a flash to get good shots of insects. But the build-in flash of the Nikon is not always the best option. Hope you find out.
Its a great shot, but the whole thing looks a bit light,if you dont already shoot in RAW you could try this as you can often pull out more detail then convert to JPG. A flash may work but would probley scare off the bug each time,I used one on fish but if they had shiny scales it created its own problems. I'v done some work on your picture if you want I can email it to you.
