Description
After posting, "In the Still of the Night", a day or two ago, my good friend Tara (auntietk) said something like, "...OK, now I'd like to see the same scene in daylight and then with the regular street lights on." Although she might have been simply saying it for fun...it sounded like a fine idea to me as I continue to learn how my month old camera behaves under different lighting conditions.
I didn't have to go far...all three of these shots are taken while sitting on my front door step.
The right side of my daylight shot is a little washed out due to a bright sun sinking fast in the west but still high enough to be quite bright.
Thanks for the inspiration Tara :-)
Almost to the weekend. Have a good one everybody!
Bill

LOL challenge met with delightful results Bud!!!...there you go auntie, that'll teach ya :)
Bill, we need to know what changes in settings: or had you set everything to automatic? I bet the ISO came down in the daylight shot. Love to see experiments and their results.
Head slap. Thanks Dick (drace68). Of course when you do a collage your camera data doesn't get automatically posted. I do not use automatic settings...I have vowed to go with manual settings to force myself to learn how to be completely in charge of my results...good, bad or otherwise. I'll have to go back and look at each photo using my PS Bridge. I'll add a note to my comments below the collage when I've got the data. THANKS FOR ASKING:-)
What a great idea!
Tara does makes us sit up and pay attention, doesn't she?? Great idea, though, gives us a great look at your world!!
wonderful!!!
Cool what a difference!!
Great place to live!
Great sequence and quite informative. Thanks, Clive
Great contrast. Excellent shots!!
This is wonderful
Oh no, it wasn't an idle request at all! I really did want to see the difference. This is exactly what I had in mind. I knew that since you had taken the original shot from your porch, it wouldn't be any trouble at all to get the other two shots (not like ... Oh! Would you go back to Egypt and take one more just like the other one?) and I was just itching to see these other two pics! I'm going to apologise in advance for saying ... the difference is like ... well, it's like night and day! * teeheehee! * (I couldn't help it - really.) Thank you, my dear!
Very interesting, thankyou. You don't have much light though.
wow ..u definetly have patience
Great experiment!
Come on, Tara couldn't have been serious in this request. You had to stay awake for 24-hours straight for these captures. Nevertheless, fine sequence of shots depicting day versus night in this collage, Bill!
Excellent collage. The night shots look really fantastic.
lol, marilyn & tara. Well I would say, go back to Egypt and get that shot! But I'm glad Tara asked for this, because it's just what makes these galleries great—that people share bits & pieces of their life. (If only I had a camera...not that I could photograph anywhere near the way you do, bill...) Well it's really nice to see this in its variations from normal life. And whoo, your middle pic is worthy of an upload by itself: very nice capture of the gentle sweep of grass, of the massing of shadow, and of a beautiful ethereal light—it's beautiful. That light is beautiful. I don't know anything about the camera specs (hey, I'm from 2D, the gallery over in the basement by the boiler room!), but whatever you're using, you know how to guide it with your inner eye. A really nice pic and upload. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Cool collage & experiment....
What a difference a day makes.Great collage, always interesting to see these sequence pieces. I'm slowly moving away from auto settings but for the few photo's I take it's usually easier.Still,as long as so many here are posting such inspirational work, I'll keep trying.
Wonderful idea, Bill, and very interesting to see the difference! Unique idea, well captured and a great set of shot, Bill!!
ohh I really like the effect!!!! great shot
superb work, the scene looks very different in the three pictures! it makes one think!
Interesting how the difference in light plays with the sense of distance and scale.
Gosh they all look so different and super in their own way. Well done.
Interesting collage! What a difference a day makes! Lol. You would never had known.... Rob.
