Description
Ok, I admit it; I was driving when I took this. All I did was grab the camera, point and shoot. This is Hwy 140, the road into Yosemite. I'd just turned east off HWY 99, and was about an hour from El Portal, where my son lives. I couldn't get there fast enough at this point!!

Shame on you!!! You did it again... oh oh... :-) But a great shot!!!
Lots of dry grass there; looks like that around here now!
My brother used to do this all the time Marylin, he had his camera rigged up so that he could set it off by remote, he had a view set up on his windscreen in the wagon(18 wheeler) so that he could see what the lens saw and one press of the remote and he had a good capture. He had one hand off the steering wheel for a fraction of a second, les time than it took to change gear. That was back in the 35mm film days as well. Excellent capture, looks a great road to drive. Bravo!!!!!
Perfect title. What's to worry about taking both hands off the wheel and driving with your knees out there??? Then one hand for the camera and the other for a sandwich:-) Great pic...and look at the reflections in the hood of your trusty Ford Ranger.
Now that is one str8 roadway. And I see you had your vehicle all polished up for the trip, too. Nice reflects in the hood. Better taking a quick pic than texting, I say.
hey you are still driving on the wrong side of the road lol...nice shot dear, please be careful
Hmmmmm.....On the road again. Just can't wait to get on the road again. The life I love is taking pictures with my friends. Or????? Slow down, you move too fast. You've got to make the morning last......feeling groovy? Have fun. Aloha
Talk about being on the straight and narrow. Great contrast with the road, dead grass, blue sky and lets not forget about the red car. Dana
WIDE OPEN SPACES! .... BEAUTIFUL shot, beachzz!!
between you & bill, I'm gettin' heart murmurs over here...bill on Michigan Avenue in Chicago (not a country road!) and you in the plains of California...well, it's a wonderful shot, and I said last night, only Marilyn would get a shot out of the front of a car that looked like she was going to an enchanted kingdom. Nice color in the mountains & sky, nice big grassy field, and that shock of red at the bottom—your car—it's just great. This is what you're meant to be doing, taking in the world & finding the big bursts wherever they are...and I'm glad you were in the great river! (Any pictures of that? You didn't take your camera there, did you? I know photographers are all crazy, but that would be nuts!) And do you really drive with your knees, lol? You & Bill must be tall: If I drove with my knees, I wouldn't see over the dashboard! Anyway, wonderful vibrant shot. More trips like this one, please!
Welllll ... I suppose on a long straight road like this, it's probably fairly safe! MUCH better than the time you took a shot in the middle of the woods in the rain! But don't worry ... I won't tell on you. :D
excellent shot !!
