Description
SHELTER
You comfort me
With gentle hand
And loving heart
You protect me
With warrior strength
And flaming sword
You heal my wounds
With tender touch
And caring words
You spur me on
With challenges
And new techniques
You soothe my soul
With sure embrace
And safe retreat
You love me well
With tenderness
My friend
My heart

I wrote this ages ago, but the perfect title eluded me. Sometimes it's the little things that hang you up!

Very gorgeous and moving words.
Great title and poem that goes nicely with the picture.
Six carefully crafted verses. They say so much. You say you've pulled this off the shelf. Neat,...we can take Shelter and imagine you've written it with each of us in mind. Thanks for the warm thoughts :-)
Another sweet poem :-)
What wonderful sweet words my dear friend! I just love it... You are so very talended Tara... You should publish!!! Ek het jou lief! :)
Superb words Tara, very touching
Wonderful poem and the last words are soooo the true!!
Very touching words describing a friendship Tara.
Very touching, and oh-so-true of so many people I know...including a particular, lanky Russian who has decided that I'm his best student. But friends, especially the special ones, are like that. You learn so much from them, they push you, they say what's needed when it needs to be said (even if it's only electronic and trapped on your computer screen) and they always have some form of encouragement, even if it's just wordlessness as you're sharing blinis or something. I love this.
love the comments, and love the perspective Chip gives...this is so touching, and you do it with the most minimal means...do you know every line has 4 syllables (if you count "warrior" as 2, which it really is)? It doesn't matter if you don't, because it came out of your insides that way: Even the last two lines can make up one line of 4: Point is, it's like little gems one after the next, and the rhythm doesn't make tedium but rather soft inviting heart beats. it's wonderful. And I love that you call a friend "my heart". Yes. Whenever we have these people in our lives, they're the angels Marilyn talks about. Messengers...It's beautiful.
Touching words
Well written Tara...
Nice Tara!
Absolutely beautiful! As a christian this sums up how I feel about my lord Jesus! Hugs and happy writing!
If I could say so much with so few words, I'd be a happy man. This is beautiful..
