Description

Although i tried different lighting and shadow settings I could not get rid of the shadow banding on the lower distant hills...sort of like a terracing effect. The render time on this was almost 9 hours and I went back and fooled with more settings and re-rendered again only to see they are there, once again. Well, one can't get everything perfect, can they...LOL Thanks for looking in and any comments you care to leave. They are all appreciated, greatly. Cloud City structures courtesy of orbital and are available over at Daz3D. Bryce 6.1 PW with PhotoScape 3.3 ________________________________ The music is from Faure's Requiem. I had the privelege of being organist while performing the entire Requiem with a large choir two years ago at a funeral Mass for a close friend.

I am awed by this landscape and mystical vision of these temples, nestling in the majesty of that mountain range in the distance...A superb work, Keith, and my hat off to you :-)

I like the banding effect,it adds an otherworldly feel to the landscape. Is the effect a result of the terrain formation itself,or a procedural in the texture? If the lower terrain is a seperate one from your distant range, you could try increasing the resolution ,or smoothing the terrain,in the terrain editor. The addition of the buildings adds depth to the image, and your lighting is great as usual!

Very nicely composed this one, Keith - and I don't just mean the music! I like the way you've got us looking through the buildings to the towering landscape - which I consider to be the past and future all at the same time. Nicely lit.

Nice work Keith, the buildings look so natural in ths one and the banding on the hills gives the image an overall sense of mystery. Tony.

Exceptional as always - your lighting is always so crisp and clear and with a slight touch of "ausser-erdich" :-)

I think the banding actually adds to the overall image. The grand scale is fantastic and the outcome was worth the render time. Beautiful work, Keith!

The shadow banding, I like; it leaves something unexpected to the piece something extra for the imagination to play with. Thank you.

Great framing of the scene with the buildings - I think e-brink said it - really sets everything up! Agree with you on the mountains - frustrating.
