The Chicago Art Institute. Oh, what a place. Just glance at this link or google it yourself. Wow.
Chicago Art Institute
Title comes from the fact of how I took this photo out the passenger side window as we drove by the front of the building enroute to the Sears' Tower.
Made it home to Leavenworth safe and sound yesterday...next stops on Bill's and Rob's great adventure will be Kansas City and Topeka, Kansas. More museums, city-scapes, etc.
Best to you all...will begin to comment again soon...honest :-))) I have been looking at what you've all been up to...great stuff!

Great capture and a great place to visit - it was all covered with snow and ice the last time I was there.
wonderful!!!
You took this from the PASSENGER window?. I'm worried coz I don't think Rob drives! Hell of a shot, must admit I have a thing for lion statuary. We have some huge stone ones in Liverpool. My minds running away now, there was a film 'The ghost & the darkness' (Val Kilmer ?).About 2 huge maneating lions.Shot, stuffed and mounted and on display in Chicago??? any connection.Have I got that right? Does anyone care? Another top drawer picture Bill, thanks for sharing.
wow, some great chicago history in the comments, love the question from Harry, and love andrea's "so you didn't go in..." Yeah, the Art Institute has a very famous collection of 19th & early 20th C European art, one of the best impressionistic & post impressionistic collections outside of France. And it's a very dear place to all who go there. (I almost lived there when I was in school, as my girlfriend at the time was a grad student there—in art—while I did my grad work south of there, at the U. of Chicago in Hyde Park [where they split the atom...kinda gives you the jitters...]) And you caught the facade, that old late 19th C. early 20th 'monumental' type of facade; and your angle is complementary to it's strong presence; and of course the lions have become iconic to people who go there all the time. I've noticed that, in your captures of the more monumental facades, you get a fine-tuned set of hues; that is, the somewhat bland colors of these stones take on a quiet elegance and tonal purity through your lens. I'll speak to that in another upload. But I see it here. Not bad for a drive-by shot! (Great title!) You got the exterior to a tee!
Been there! Have a selection of 'Drive By's' to post over time as well.... as a laugh! Your picture though is of course of the highest quality. Stunning view and surprisingly good considering Rog was driving! (Sorry Rog!!!) Lol. Rob.
