Description
This was a piece I was asked to do by my daughter so she could give it to a friend for the little girl's birthday. Apparently the kid is really into dragons. It was a fun one to do. This was done with a combination of airbrush and traditional brush work on gessoed masonite. The pic really doesn't do the original justice, but at least it's something to document it. Word is the little girl loved it so that's what really counts. -Les

Very good picture (and colors !).
Thanks... you know, it's funny to me how I can post a quick little render on here that is really just to show off a new model I'm working on and it will get a pile of comments, but something 2d, hand drawn and painted gets hardly any movement. I think it's bizarre. Thanks for commenting. -Les
Kool 2Dee skills and it's got me f..ked as well, maybe if the Dragon had tits ? Anyhoo, I think this version would make any little girl happy and proud to hang on their bedroom walls ! ~Cheers~
My apologies for missing this last week, had to go back and look after coming across today's post. I always wanted to try airbrushing, I've seen a lot of really talented people's work, and when the artist is really good, the results are amazing! I'm old enough to remember seeing a lot of work done on cars and vans when I was a lot younger. By the way, it's apparent by just seeing this one, you are in that really good category! Pretty amazing work!
The lost art of cutting frisket. Nice character study.
Great job! This looks wonderful... I can only imagine what the original looks like. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Thanks again folks. The original popped more than I expected. Oh, and no frisket was used. No aversion to it, just didn't have time. :) -Les
