Description
There are three little barn owls here, in a corner of their encolsure. They were not quite ready to leave the nest when their tree was being cut down. Fortunately, the owls were spotted and proper folks were contacted to care for the owls. Had the tree been up a couple of weeks more all would have gone nature's way. The tree came down.
These are strange and beautiful and intimidating and enticing birds. They saw me and swayed back and forth, making a hissing sound like a small fast wind storm. This display meant "you go" and I did. These birds need to stay wild to survive hopefully sometime in the not too distant future in the wild. They will need to learn to hunt and to avoid us, live in our barn and control the mice and vermin yet not become our pets..live together but not socially.
This is not a gallery quality photo but you might find it interesting.
The link is to an adult. These are one of the most intense owls and one of the most beautiful.

These are beautiful birds, I would be most interested in finding out if these little guys survive, If you know or find out, please keep me posted. Poor babies.
Awe, they are so cute. Too bad people just don't think of all the poor animals and birds that live in the trees. Glad they were saved. Great capture...Aloha
great news that the owls were saved!
Nice photo and I am glad some people still have a heart to care!
I think it's a wonderful photo and most interesting
Great shot! Glad to hear that someone spotted them in time to take care of them.
Adorable, I am glad they were able to be rescued.
so sweet, the poor things.

They are so cute. Nice capture!
I am sorry that this happened to them and I glad that someone is able to help them grow the way they should and be placed by into the wild. I think this is definately a wonderful shot!
Fantastic shot!
My favorite of all owls! And I have never seen the young. They are so near to being on their own! Look at those faces. I have seen this warning behavior before and it is fascinating. I wouldn't argue with one either. :-)
excellent capture!!! They are so cute!
Such fluffy little things that look quite scared. Adorable. Good picture.
wonderful photo and story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is illegal in the UK to disturb nesting owls, I put a stop to a tree felling next door when the tawny was nesting, they had to wait about 8 weeks. The RSPCA man has the rights of a policeman in issues like ths.
Great shot and narrative... thank God for the kind folks who help displaced creatures like this!
These are such wonderful creatures...I'm glad you had the chance to view them and share them with us !!! Well done!!
beautiful!
Excellent and very beautiful shot. Fantastic details!
Glad they fell into the hands of caring and knowledgeable people. Loved your description of their "Go away" warning. Lovely capture!
