Description
This bird was in late afternoon, deep shadows but just enough light was coming through the tree to make the scene eye catching.
Bird is one of my Grackles.
I have uploaded a companion piece in B&W. Last Light #2

Gorgeous capture and awesome zoom. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need a window like that. Your yard has got to be filled with the most beautiful bird songs. I sit every morning well waiting for my car pool and listen to the birds. This morning from one tree a male cardinal and from another a female answering... it was awesome.
That's one amazing bit of photography Bill, this POV is fantastic!!!
Great shot!
Fantastic lighting and composition. Wonderful work, Bill!
Awesome capture of the light on his glossy feathers!
Great shot Bill..like the background and the pensive aspect of his looking upward..

The low light really brings out the shine of his feathers!
Very dramatic... he could be doing a soliloquy from Shakespeare!
Wonderful shot!!
He seems a tad shy Bill!

It's so great!
Superb image
He looks like he is looking up towards the heavens
yes, you captured this one just perfectly, in just the right light and pose!
Wow, that Grackle is so shiny it looks like it was polished up with car wax. Superlative bit of light/dark contrast and semisilhouetting in another one of your great avian compositions, Bill!
The lighting gives the Grackle a beautiful sheen. A lovely capture.
Interesting capture....He seems so interested in something... Aloha
