Description
I created the Black Hole using Solar Cell and the Star field using Glitterato. I then found an image of a proposed space craft and added better solar panels and the flame. Enjoy!

Wonderful scene. It recalls some of the vintage SF art I've inhaled over the years, and I particularly love the way the vessel, in its way, reminds me of the Roc in Samuel R. Delany's novel, Nova my all time favorite space opera. I can see almost see Captain Lorq Von Ray and his cybborg studs (Kaitin, Mouse, Sebastian, Tÿy, Idas and Lynceos) on board. Geez! I named nearly all of the characters in that novel and it's been years since I read it. But this image reminds me of it in so many ways--I think it's the hulking black hole (okay, NOT a nova) and the ship with its vanes extended...okay, solar panels, but the similarities are there, and you've gotten me to thinking of that novel, which is a good thing. I'll have to go dig up my book collection and snag that particular gem. This is great work, wonderfully realized!
