Description
Every once in awhile I get a real action shot involving a bird around my back deck.
Some shots have just enough detail to make them fun to look at. Here a Blue Jay, who had been in the bowl of seed, takes off leaving a spray of seeds behind him.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great Saturday wherever you are!
Bill:)
A ZOOM allows you to see the birds head just beyond the beating wings.

Superb action shot Bill!
This is cool, great shot.
!!!! Just look at that seed fly! I know it's just birdseed, but it's very exciting to see! :)
That's a fantastic capture, the seed is really dancing. Did you tell him to come back and clean up his mess?
more for your resident squirrel to clean up.outstanding action capture

hihi...this looks like my parrots again...lol...if I fill up their bowl with new seeds, the male goes down on it puts its beak in and starts shaking his head...lol... a fine one
I love it lol
Just like a Blue jay to leave the place in a mess. Very cool capture.
all your action-shots in this series have been wonderful, so it's not easy to pick a few...this was amazing for its combo of motion & still (ie, motionless) detail, for the wonderful sweep of seeds as they take off; for the opposite motions of the bird moving one way & the seeds the other; for the clarity of the seeds themselves; and for the composition—ie, the railing on an angle, the bird & seeds at cross angle, and all of it on an angle to us. And your restful background too. Good work, and a lot of fun too. I assume that you began to 'feel' your way to these shots after awhile; doing the same subject over and over has a meditative quality, doesn't it, it gets inside you and you start craving to go back there each day. Whatever happens, you showed real ease & intimacy with these birds—and the great part is, it's just your home, no special park, no special trip: just where we all live each day. The marvels right outside your door. Wonderful shot.
