Description
This range is on the Navajo Reservation north of Winslow. If this were Federal Land, leased out to a rancher, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) would determine how many head of cattle the land could sustain. Rangeland like this would support about one head, maybe two head of cattle per square mile. I don't know how the Navajo determine sustainability.

stunning! like it so very much.
Nice! I always wanted to visit places like this.
Impressive view of what semi-arid range looks like. I woudl think it is a bit overgrazed, but I'm not an expert.
WOW, awesome shot!
How can these cows survive ? That's the question I'm always asking when I get there. It's a fabulous place ; but despite the beauty of the place it's a poor and dangerous land.
