Description

Captured 5/14/09, very early on an overcast morning, about .15 miles/.241 kilometers from my archetypical abode. Talk about rare, this was the only bloom I could find on a huge bush, that is the only one of that species that I have encountered so far during the several years that I have tramped and trod the several square miles of my community. Hopefully, it will sprout more blooms. Be that as it may, this was not the healthiest or most beautiful example of the flower I've ever seen, but nevertheless, I'm still fascinated by the crepe paper petals. The original of the bottom photo was somewhat blurred, so instead of trashing it, I applied one of Andrea's favorite filters: Poster edges, which did wonders for it. Better viewed full size. Thankx for stopping by, and have a trendy Thursday.
