On the 30th of April in the Netherlands we celebrate 'queens day', unfortunately a lot of you may know that by now, for our queen was attacked by a nutcase in a suzuki this year. In fact the whole royal family was the goal of the attack. But that's not what my oncoming series will be about, it's about returning to the town where I was born on this special day for Holland. So there's parties, wich still went on after the attack, but also the environment I grew up in. This image shows the start of one of the many parties in a parking garage that can keep up to 5000 people. You can't hear the techno music from the image but if you look on the site of the organisation (www.dommelvallei. nl) you will be forwarded to a site that has a great amount of 'eindhoven techno' that is available to download, but as you will be forwarded to www.e-troit.nl it is a bit easier to go to that site immediately ;-). The banner hanging in the image was probably about the same time as the attack on our queen took place, and already people were in a party mood, as will be obvious in next images I will upload. A lot of them didn't even know what happened in the evening of the same day, so it's a good thing the city of Eindhoven didn't cancel the parties, Queens Day was still a Queens day for at least the hundreds of thousands of people in the city. And it should, and I think we should go on partying in the next years, for we shouldn't let us stop celebrating our monarchy for one nutcase that doesn't believe in such a thing... Good day, Thom
