Description
Flowers speak to the heart
Especially a woman's heart
With their fragrance, beauty and colors.
Saying ...
Touch me tenderly
Kiss me pink
Love me passionately
Tulips are one of the many blossoms that say I love you in oh so many ways. So I'm doing a series for my "Language of Flowers", paying tribute to one of my favorite flowers - the parrot tulip.
Created in Photoshop CS, using tulip photo, painting techniques, blended with an Organica background.
Hope you enjoy.

Just amazing! Such incredible beauty!!
I don't want to bring Warhol into this because this isn't exactly the kind of 'series' he would do (lol), but one thing warhol taught many artists was that a single finished image isn't always better than several versions together; and that's what you have here. First, your treatment of the flowers themselves is splendid—ie, your undulant and sensuous accents on the petals, the textures you bring out (almost sandstone-ish in spots), the play of light and dark for intensity, etc etc, truly Carol visions, and opulent. But then you move from a cooler violet (very subtle, with some grays or slate greens hiding inside) to a more 'normative' violet, saturated and radiant; to a very introspective violet, with its deep shadows and saturated near-crimson darks. A subtle journey inwards from top to bottom. Then your backgrounds: more of your undulant leaves and greens, and one of your living mirroring skies, where the forms seem to go on forever through space. In that case the upper shot reveals a lot, because of the lighter hues. But altogether it's a passionate triptych, and a beautiful transformation of a photo into an entirely digital vision; and showing that you both relate to the things around us but also the forms inside us, and bring them together in your art. Beautiful.
