Description
Thank you for viewing and commenting on my previous image of Rostov.
Yesterday I was invited to view how a small new village church was being decorated. The three artists working there are fine arts instructors from the Rostov University. The girl in the pic is my friend’s daughter. Was amazed at seeing their enthusiasm. They work weekends and on public holidays, free of charge. We agreed that I will come again in June when most of the interior staffolding has been removed, hence I have listed this pic at Work in Progress.
I am planning to post some more images I made yesterday and keep you updated after the Junes session.

I have respect for such artists.one thing to create art on a canvas, but to be in such an awkward position and still create masterpieces is another thing.excellent capture
A great shot and the work looks amazing!
Majestic !
I can understand 100% why they do it and for free at that! What vibrant, live colors. I like seing the position of the artist...can't be easy. She must be mightily inspired. Glad you will be able to photograph as a WIP.
This brings tears to my eyes, Nikolay. I love this art style, and it is an honor to see it being created. I would love to see every image you have. How truly amazing and beautiful. I'm drooling! :)))
tremendous composition. your model is so engrossed in her activity that you were allowed to capture her enthusiasm. MASTERLY!
Super ! Super ! Now think of Michael-Angelo painting the Chapel Sixtine ! Tremendous work !

What an awesome undertaking, and it's so beautiful, even unfinished! Fantastic capture!
this is such difficult and hard work and you caught every element of it. the dedication, the difficulty, the patience and not to forget the skill!
Superb image of this artisan at work! How tiring this must be and how sore she must be at the end of the day!
Simply beautiful and reverent work! Wonderful to see this in progress, the dedication to this is phenomenal. Brilliant capture Nikolay!

Fantastic!!
OH WOW How fantastic. Yes please, I like to see more :-)
How wonderful to be able to see this in progress! I'll look forward to seeing the finished result.
We have many churches here that were built by Polish, Russian, and Slavik immigrants. They are the most breathtakingly beautiful churches because of the paintings on the walls, ceilings, and woodwork. It is so wonderful see that this tradition is being carried on by today's youth! I am so looking forward to seeing the progress, and so in awe of the skill and patience and love that these people are putting in to their work.
Beautiful photo.
Nice shot. It's good to see students actually doing art, and not upchucking paint on a canvas with art as an excuse. :)
..free of charge..as an artist i can' t feel but a little sorry for them...make a unique artwork and receive only complimentes does not pay bills...ooops... let' s focus here..the shot is amazing...the painting is overwhelming...thanx for sharing this meaningful image and a very huge 5!
always delightful to have such enthusiasm, that makes the hardest work a joy. wonderful to see them at work, i have seen something similar in little church nearby us, quite different in decoration, but its about painting as well :)
fine shot, really fascinating! hope she gets credited what with having worked for free. look forward to more of this place
Excellent work Nikolay!
Fine photos of a sight we rarely see beyond a movie about Michelangelo. The work she and the other instructors are doing is not just for art's sake. It is also an expression of faith.
