Description
Panorama looking southeast from high ground at the Veterans (VA) Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas toward Kansas City.
The view to the farthest ridge is a little over 11 miles. We are looking over the Missouri River out there in the flood plain...I'm just not high enough to enable you to see it. Therefore the map.
Please ZOOM.
Have attached a GPS map, under the expert direction of DK (moonrancher) to see if I could emulate her map illustrations in her travel series. Eureka...it works:-)
Also try to disregard the fact I'm in the cemetery so much lately...the terrain there affords some good ground for working with panoramas. I'm not usually spending all my time checking gravestones. LOL.

Certainly a scene of contrast...death and life, hill and flatland, vibrant color and golden grasses... Wonderful shot.
Superb Photograph!
A beautiful place for those who mourn to visit
The sky is as glorious as ever in the Central Great Plains. And the flatness, too! ;D). A wonderful contrast between the green grass, the white stones, that catch the white of the clouds, and the blueish horizon line, separating the two planes of sky and earth.
Fantastic Great Plains landscape!!! Great picture!!
Good shot there. Wonderful contrasts in color and Life. Re: GPS map Blew up to high resolution and really Bill, you need to wash your car. Remember the story that their spy guy said to our spy guy, with our GPS imagery we can tell what you are having for dinner.. Our spy guy replies, we can tell if you washed the dishes. Cheers
Wonderful work my friend. Goina go check out that map..
Beautiful work. MrsLubner put it succinctly. Great to get the instant link to the map, too. It gives a far better sense of the setting and the scale. Awesome addition!

A marvelous view.
A beautiful view from here and a great resting place. I love the undulations of the terrain.
What a view! It seems to go on forever. (Are those dips and hills the reason people say to me (indignantly) "Kansas isn't flat!!" ??)
Very well composed shot. great contrasting colours!
Beautiful capture,
Another very impressive Panorama! Also, the Map idea is good too. Colours are vibrant. I like! cemeteries often make good places for pictures - interesting stone, views etc! It's just that way. Excellent work, Bill. Rob.
