Description
I took a bunch of shots at my friend Nina's house when we were on Lopez a few weeks ago. I worked up the "tourist" shots from that trip first ... "artsy" stuff to follow!
:D
I fell in love with the different surfaces, and they way the reflect or absorb light. Everything from the totally flat black of non-stick cookware to the polished metal colanders to the flat white of plastic. (I'll admit it ... I'm easily amused!)
Nina is quite a bit taller than I am. I couldn't reach any of these items. Good thing I don't cook, huh?

Being amused is fantastic, especially when art comes out of it. This is a great shot, and it reminds me of something I'd see at my friend Mike's place in Texas. He has this thing for cooking, and tends to make the best mashed potatoes on earth. But anyway, this is a great photo; You've most perfectly captured the different textures and various grades within the colors themselves, especially great since the whole image is in black and white. This rocks.
Great shot! I hope you have a lot more of those types of shots
Turned out very well in B/W....nice shot
wonderful capture, Tara May warm hug that smiles, Linda
Your title had me worried until I saw the entire picture. Immediate thought was some poor, painfully thin, unshaven guy chained to a dungeon wall. I know, easily led off into a medieval cartoon. Your actual photo does a magnificent job of exploring all the surfaces and textures that it was taken to record.
Always wanted one of these racks but never had the ceiling to do it with. Great shot.
Reminds me of a kids song 'Banging on the Pots and Pans'
It doesn't take much to please me, either! This is a fascinating image, now we ned a close-up of that shiny colander with all the reflections!
Splendid composition and W/B my friend
Interesting image! :)
Very cool shot!!
Fabulous kitchen decoration...love your b&w choose of tone.
Being short has its advantages sometimes, at least you didn't bang your head on them. Have to agree with Andrea, close up of that shiny colander please. If you took one that is. #;0) excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Well spotted and presented! I love ceiling racks; I had one in California, but given that I don't cook I ended up with dusty pots... :(
