Description
This was a VERY windy day on the river. The wind comes from the north, blows the whitecaps the opposite way the river runs. It never fails to amaze me when I see that.

How amazing, that the wind will push the water in the opposite direction from which it's flowing! Love the colors ... beautiful!
That is some fierce wind blowing there to make those waves like that. Also like how you have captured the unusual rocks in the foreground, too.
We had that wind here too! Nearly knocked me over a couple of times. I'm headed to Ft. Bragg for a birthday party tomorrow so I wanted to let you know I am ordering no wind. :-)
Is that choppy or what?! Amazing to see , not so much fun in a little boat.
I guess it would be easier to row up river with this wind behind you, after all they are only whitecaps not white horses. Excellent work Marylin. Bravo!!!!!
Wonderful shot!!
A most interesting phenomena:)
great picture!
We used to call them white cats...I can almost feel the wind looking at this shot. Great work!
nice place for a sit and thoughts too wonderful capture warm hug, Linda
lovely photo..love the movement in the water x 5+
Off the charts stellar, Marilyn! Terrific depth, colors and lighting contrasts in this fabulous foto! But watch thy step. The rocks in the foreground don't look too inviting.

This is amazing. Lake Michigan has something of the same weirdness...waves going one way, the flow going another...often various other ways with undertows and such involved as well. The ripples here are stunning, and it seems as if you're WAY up, looking a LONG way down into this! Great work, and it makes me wish I was there to see it with my own eyes.
It does look like the ocan rolling in. Well seen - well captured. Dana P
This would make a very good and difficult jigsaw :)
