Description
Ronnie (PD154) commented, "...might have worked well in mono, Bill?"
And that was easy to do, so here is "Eclipse" by way of comparison. Eclipse in color
Please take a look...
I am very suggestible:)
Bill
P.S. Also cropped a little of the near bank away.

I like it better this way. Cheers, Skipper
I think I like this one best.
better in bw!
I'm partial to blue, and yet there's something about this B&W... I like it.
Very impressive and lovely!
Definitely an improvement! excellent.
Oh! Yay Ronnie! :) I hadn't thought of that ... but he's right. Mono is fabulous! Excellent conversion.
Very nice Bill love this as well as the previous Colour version. The high contrast is even more effective here
Oh man, this looks like a style of art photography from the mid- to late-1930s. Memory banks are low, but the word "Bauhaus" comes to mind.
Very striking in black and white, Bill! Great contrasts and shadows... well done!
Fantastic shot!!
Great conversion, definately my choice! Very well done, Bill! Clive
Yes, the black & white really works well for this image. Well done!
I have no preference here. They work equally well whether it be in b&w or color, Bill. Actually, the b&w above reminds me of the 1930s and some of the work projects the Roosevelt Administration came up with, such as the WPA, to ease the depression.
both versions are appealing Bill
Both of them works for me too. Excellent. Aloha
wow Bill, this is another picture altogether. Your b&w tones are silvery, you really applied them well. (There's an art to this, and you got a beautiful silken quality to your b&w.) Also the tighter crop is beautiful, esp in monotones, because now we focus entirely on the lights & darks of that bridge, and on your beautiful pov of it. And the water-texture and slope of the cross-shore trees and the sky too...they all take on a harmonized tone with your b&w. (I liked the original too, like Richard: But it's so nice to see this version. It's such a subtle & silvery vision. I think it's beautiful.)
Well, my friend, while EVERYONE is going with the B/W choice, I'm afraid I'm going against the flow! I like the 'Blue' one better. The slight crop improves it a bit.... But either way, I just love the view of this bridge. It's not an 'Old' one. Or made of anything special. BUT, it has a really 'artistic' shape to its design. Grief! I'm getting all arty! Help! Great work. Rob.

I like this version better, the post work suits it better.
They are both wonderful, each with its own particular qualities; I can't decide!!
Ahh! Yeah it does look great in mono Bill, like them both, but this is boss!
wonderful B/W!
Both images are wonderful!
