Description

This is my take on the High Priestess tarot card. I almost wanted to title this "the drawing that would not end" because this is the 5th time I've re-done it. Granted, the first two were due to accidents involving clumsy room mates and coffee meeting the original sketch, and the last one was because of my hard drive failing on me, so I guess I really shouldn't feel too bad. At least I got to work out all the bugs because I've drawn it several times. The background was all done with a mouse, but I finally got a replacement for my deceased tablet, so the figure (and any final touch ups) were done using my Wacom Bamboo Fun (the medium sized one). It was interesting getting used to pressure sensitivity that actually worked (my old tablet was a used one from a designer buddy of mine, and I guess he really did beat the crap out of it). At any rate, I'm pretty happy with the results, although if I'd gotten the table earlier, I very probably would have dumped the line work and just gone with a straight painted version of the image, but I didn't feel like going back and doing another week of tweaking to the image. As for how long this took, I really didn't keep track of the time... I just enjoyed working on it. Thanks for stopping by and having a look. Hope you have a great day / night.

You did an excellent job on this...I love it! Seems our best art comes out through changes and or mistakes...you did very well. She fits into the scene, the colors are true to the image...sure is awesome...well done! Glad you got to post the artwork! :-)

Really spectacular work that you have DRAWN here. Wow. Now that is real raw talent oozing through every pixel of this image. Worth every darn second in my book, but then I didn't have to suffer the weeks of turmoil.

Excellent week! To postwork intensely such an image, I would have only picked my favorite from a pile of renders. She seems kind of stiff here, since I'm expecting the fluidity of 2D. I'd put her arms closer to her body, myself. Still you did an outstanding job with the shading, four stars.

I love it! My favorite thing of all is the detail in her hair, the colors are amazing! I know that you know this already, but I'm seriously impressed by this painting... it shows incredible talent! :)
