Heart Healing
Breathe in
Breathe out
Take a deep breath
Let it go
Gut punched
Never saw it coming
Feels like
The weight
Of the world
On my soul
Stand straight
Inhale deeply
Let it out
Rid the soul
Of the toxins
Breathe in
Breathe out
Take a deep breath
Let it go
Relax
Float
Sigh
Take in
All the good
Air
Let the bad
Air
Out
Breathe in
Breathe out
Take a deep breath
Let it go

Beautifully short and to the point. I am feeling your feelings...you've expressed them so clearly. IMHO, the three repeats of your immediate action is very appropo. Leaves me asking myself, does this work, if it does, for how long? And it has a decided rapid rhythm...a quick punch, a doubling over, a backing away, a standing up to shake it off and a relaxation. Maybe I should go get a swig of something, I've just been beat up and survived! Well done!
I should just say "ditto" to Bill, he got it all. All I can really add (though he said it in other ways) is that your short, often one-word verse helps capture the 'breath' part of it, imitating single catch-up breaths after we've been through pain. Word parallels life. And "let the bad/air/out"—where you put 'air' and 'out' in one line each—slows the rhythm as if we were slowing down ourselves. Very well done Marilyn, and I hope the feeling itself is with you always. (Oh, ps: I like the pic, I assume part of a flower; very nice shot.)
Well, Bill and mark are so much better with words than me....They have said exactly what I feel.
Beautiful...
Very powerful work Marilyn and causes one to give pause
lovely written x
wonderful work warm hug, Linda
I think this could be your best yet as this is very powerful Marilyn :o) Mick
I wish there was audio, so we could read our poems as part of the RR experience. I can hear the way you read this ... it's beautifully done, and I feel relaxed all over again, reading it here!
Poignant, as is your wont. Reads like something from a karate class. I thought maybe yoga, except for the punch to the gut part.
This is very good work my friend :)
Great work!
