Description
One of the more elegant examples of the various picket fences in my general area, captured 3/6/09, a little after 8 AM, within walking distance of my redemptive residence.
This fence, depicted here in alternate POVs, was so clean, neat and tidy, as opposed to many others of its ilk, that it was a real joy to photograph.
I digifiddled with the pictures for a moderate dark and light contrast effect, unlike beachzz, who goes for the extreme in contrast.
If nothing else, there is a positive side to living in a paranoid community -- and believe me, it is paranoid -- which offers such a vast variety of fences and walls, as you meander suspiciously up and down the streets and sidewalks looking for photo targets of opportunity. The area is definitely a fence/wall connoisseur's paradise.
Thankx for dropping by, and have a frankly frenetic Friday.

Awesome! I like it!
Boy, oh boy Harry, you're always thinking. Why not a series on walls and fences? Could throw gates in there for good measure. You could throw up a gate and I could match you. I hadn't considered this. BTW, do you ever get bothered by dogs on all these neighborhood walks? I know most communities have leash laws but the dogs don't always know it:-)
Fantastic perspective and beautiful play of light and shadow. Great shots!
It looks like you live in a wonderful neighborhood, and it is always a pleasure to drop by your gallery. Happy Friday!
Interesting angle and a neat fence. I prefer be paranoid then robbed. Also where you live will alter the decision on a type of fence is used for "safety". Sec camera a must what ever fence you have I recon.
...or alternatively titled "Tom Sawyer's Nightmare"! Beautiful fencing, someone takes good care of their property I see. Great capture of the shadows and lights of this one!
Great shots, love the shadows!!
Among the most charming of fences, who wouldn't want a white picket fence to surround their little corner of the world? Very nicely done, Harry.
So if I want to shop for fences and get a live example I should start here? These fences do lend themselves nicely to bunches of blooming daisies, too. :-)
Somebody keeps this painted very nicely...and too bad about the paranoia...don't think its only in your neighborhood...
