Description

This is only a small sample of all the wonderful things we found at the puddle/rink that formed over night in the park. That whole pond was a glorious display of icy statues and captures. Look at all the tiny bubbles caught in the ice! This is a branch of Blue Spruce and a dried Oak leaf. I think I was on my belly to snap this one... and YES, I got strange looks. Hey, speaking of strange you have to take a look at the strange family pic I posted in the forum. It's pretty frightening so maybe you don't have the guts?!? AND - if you can handle that are you brave enough to upload your OWN crazy family pic onto my thread? I invite you to do so. Just look for the thread "SHOW ME YOURS" in the photography forum. I dare ya....! Life is crazy and busy and I am not sure I can keep up. One of these days I would like to sit and gaze at your images!! Have a great rest of the week. Thank you for the visit. Jodie this is a beautiful image, amazing how this freezing thing does not hurt the plants, yet freez a car in water and the pressure would crush it like a Coke can?

Yes, it does look frigid. I believe a "brrrrrr" would be appropriate at this point. Stellar frame to go along with this image of the ice-petrified Blue Spruce and oak leaf, which would probably snap apart if slightly bent.

Another great one! I liked your family photo too, but Mine's probably crazier. I have a photo in mind and I'll post it if they agree.

a beautiful image, Jodi, in all ways: a proof that the greatest 'layering' isn't in Photoshop, but in real life. (Gee, thank you, Captain Obvious!) Awright, it's not exactly 'news', but it's true! (You notice I'm arguing with myself? How pitiful is that? I need sleep...) Ok, but you caught many layers in this, and many textures too. I used to roam the ravines in my home area, north of Chicago on the lake, and their little streams in winter would freeze, and you'd get a museum of leaf & other life-forms that were quite like this. You may have laid on the ground and made everyone think you'd lost your mind, but that's what photographers do; and this shot is essential winter, layered and changing in each layer, and preserved with many worlds of detail. I think it's terrific. Well happy birthday plus a day, hope your year brings you beauty & complexity like this shot: not preserved in ice, but shimmering with beauty and depth. This is a terrific piece all around. 2000 stars.
