The Imperial Corsair light cruiser is one of the few armed ships sold on the open market by the Imperial Consortium. Initially, they were sold to privateers at a sharp discount who agreed to raid and attack human assets. In the 60 years since the end of the first war, they have remained popular with pirates and raiders, and even many honest merchants, but are almost always found in alien hands. Humans, even pirates, have too many bad memories of relentless corsair raids against unarmed and civilian targets. The corsair is almost a symbol for alien piracy to most humans.
