Description
Pioneer Cemetery ~ Weston, Missouri.
I need some help identifying the large, old evergreen trees. Cedar? Cypress?
Thanks for all your continued support.

We camped near one of these trees in October one year. The locusts were so noisy! They should call it a locust tree, but I think it's more likely to be Cedar. They are one of, if not -the- largest evergreens in the US. Very nice work. I like how you caught a day when the wind has swept the clouds in the sky as well as those trees.
Excellent shot Bill, love the sky!!
A pleasant and relaxing path.
They really do look like one of the cedar varieties. Not cypress as they like soggy bottoms. Great shot of this slope and I like the gravel road rather than a paved one. Our historic cemetery has a paved road. Sort of takes a bit of the historic feel out of it.
looks like cypress type to me !!! beautifully captured hillside setting!!!
I'd go with cedar, just not the invading Eastern Red Cedar (bushy, shaped like a stopped toy spinner-top) now taking over the grassland east of I-35 in Oklahoma. As mentioned, the sky accents your pic.
Wonderful shot. I think these are cedar trees. I'm not sure if cypress grow in this area.
The sky looks awesome! Excellent shot, Bill!
A beautiful reflective shot, reflective in that it makes you ponder the greater meaning...well done!
Beautiful scene Bill. Cedar of some type sounds pretty good to me!
Nothing like our cedars up here, but there are all different kinds, so I don't know what to tell you. I like the image very much. It makes me wonder what I would see if I walked over that little hill. Your work always engages me, makes me feel like I'm right there. Nicely done, my friend!
I really like the lighting and the sky is awesome, well captured!!!!
Probably cedar, but no matter, it's a wonderful shot!
Wonderful shot!!
Excellent image...!!!1
Looks like some species of Cedar. couldn't tell you which one though, mate. Sorry! as for the picture, that's a real beauty! Lovely colours. Glorious shadows..... You've got a good one here, my friend. Well done! Rob.
excellent !
Bet it is a bit desolate in the rain! Lovely in the sunshine, though.
Yes, I would guess cedar, too, Bill. Looks like the ones in our cemetery.
A lovely peaceful place.. I would tend to think this was neither myself as the Cedar tends to have broader and outspread canopy. Maybe check out the conifers like the Ross
Sterling POV, DOF, clarity and lighting/shadow effects in this shot of the semi-silhouetted trees contrasted against the thinly clouded blue sky, Bill! Since I'm flora challenged, afraid I can't help you with the species of tree.
Not sure how I missed this one! It's a dead centre photo!
I can see from the comments above that you are going to be none the wiser as to what kind of tree they are but I'd go for a cedar though it is hard to tell from a distance. It is a lovely capture with the beautiful blue of the sky.
Great picture and the sky is beautiful. I like pictures of cemeteries.
someone asked me why trees does so well in cemeteries and I answered, well they do have lots of fertilizer no less!! My mother has some evergreens that were huge and were so beautiful covered in snow beautiful capture and trees
very nice Bill, I like the sky and the shadows as well as the leading road. well done
Gorgeous !!!
Wonderful image. I bet those people in the potter's ground could tell some wonderful tales.
