Description
Lander Falcon over Callisto
The Lander Falcon skims the surface of Jupiter's moon Callisto looking for a place to land. The mother ship USS Savannah orbits Callisto as the first man landing on a moon of Jupiter takes place below.
The model was created in Bryce 6.1 from scratch as was the landscape. The image of Jupiter wrapped around a sphere came by way of the Cassini spacecraft during its fly-by of Jupiter on the way out to its final destination of Saturn.
The image of Jupiter was reworked in Photoshop as was part of the sky-field. Starfield was created in Universe then added during postwork.
This is a continuation of my project The USS Savannah on a Jupiter mission to visit the Jovian system and 4 of its moon IO, Europa, Callisto, and Ganymede.

Wonderful scene!!!!excellent work!!!
Great composition and scene.
The lighting in this scene is fantastic David!! :)
Just watch out it doesn't collide with a big black monolith that's full of stars..... Great works as always.
Like being there! Fabulous work, my friend!
Really good work!
Excellent!
Great scene! I like the way the lander silhouettes Jupiter. (A close up of the lander would be nice -- bigger version? your monitor must be a lot bigger than mine)

What's to say but great job as always. Gee maybe I'll try a scene like this. ;}
This is such an incredible piece! Your models are so well-detailed, and so realistic, I'm in awe. I love the scale of this, you really get that feeling of how humanity is little mites crawling about in a very big universe. Awesome work!
Very beautiful image!
AWSOME. The lander is first rate.
