Back to the drawing board!
This is the redesign of the command module for my spaceship the USS Cumberland showing 6 views. After taking a good long look at my original design, then the first redesign which I have recently posted, I have decided that the crew needed more room. With all the other elements that would be needed for a crew of 6 and keeping within some constraints as to what could be built and launched into LEO this is the results.
I have also started to rethink and redesign some of the spine section including fuel and life support. The com section may also be redesign as I need a new approach that will, I hope, better serve the whole project.
The Lander that will be in the command module has also been quite frustrating to design and now will be outside. I believe that I may instead use a pod in this area for getting crew members to do maintenance on the outside of the ship. The actual Lander may be housed and attached along the spine section instead.
As always your comments and suggestions are welcome as this is still an on going project.

Very nice! Looks like the whole command module can separate and fly free with those thrusters on the back. great design on those four towers (cooling and comm?)

this is a tremendous design all by itself! I agree with all the changes you have made. Giving the crew more room for long voyages make sense. As you know from my designs, I tend to give the crew even more space than they may really need. I wish NASA or some sort of international consortium would build a ship like yours as our next manned spacecraft.
