Another example of perfect isolation of the subject from the background- not only by colour but by depth of field. Really a nice gallery you have here!
I took some pictures of these while I was home visiting my Dad but mine did not come out near as beautiful as this.
I would love to have one of these in my garden, they don't grow well in the North of England though, unless you have a tropical greenhouse. A beautiful flower and one of my favourites. I always think of Little Jimmy Dickens and his song "May the Bird of Paradise Fly up your Nose" whenever I see this flower. Jimmy is well known for being at the Grand Old Opry and the Bird of Paradise was a number one hit in 1965. One fine day as I was a-walkin' down the street Spied a beggar man with rags upon his feet Took a penny from my pocket In his tin cup I did drop it I heard him say as I made my retreat CHORUS "May the bird of paradise fly up your nose" "May an elephant caress you with his toes" "May your wife be plagued with runners in her hose" "May the bird of paradise fly up your nose" Superb macro of this most beautiful flower, certainly one to be proud of. Bravo!!!!!5+++++
