Nice, i love billeted metal objects. Great idea to make chess pieces in this way, perhaps you could create a steel/aluminium board along a similar design to complete the set.
yes its my next way if i have the time my idea is to make the 16 figures in Torradur (Alu) and the other 16 in Messing its a work for midday :)

Great work, nice to be able to use a cnc to make these. I made a set back in high school on a manual lathe and before I could complete all the pieces someone stole them.
