Description
Last fall I flew down to see my sister in southern California. The first leg of the trip flew into San Francisco; I took this shot as we banked over the ocean in order to land from the south. The Golden Gate Bridge is in the foreground, the Bay Bridge beyond. Alcatraz is in the middle and Yerba Buena and Treasure Islands a short distance from there.

Great view. A fine, sweeping photograph on your part. Brings back fond memories. My family and I lived a very short distance from the right (south) end of the Golden Gate Bridge at the Presidio of Monterey for two years. Our view from the dining room table was the entire San Francisco Bay and downtown San Francisco. Thanks for this posting.
lovely capture my friend with great colors
Nice shot! You got everything all at once ... beautiful! I love the blues.
Ah Googlemarilyn is back! :- ) Nice shot!
Marvelous view of some of the best known attractions in the area.
Flying High... Nice shot. Aloha
Great to see how these famous places relate to each other!
as andrea says above ... thanks for sharing
Looks like the river is all iced up....yes it is good to see how these places really look when seen together
Great capture sweetie, makes me dizzy though, I don't like heights, have you not noticed, most of my pics are at ground level LOL!
Great view! You can see so far...excellent capture!
interesting viewpoint
awesome capture warm hug, Linda
Unusual lighting on the bay.
wonderful shot
Because of the general blue ambiance in this nice overhead shot, I'm tempted to sing the blues, but I'm too involved in opening all my e-bots for the moment.
A very nice view from up here! Fantastic capture Marilyne!
All of the key points of interest in one grand shot. WTG, Marilyn.
it's amazing because it looks like the water is covered in snow & iceāfrom the reflections I presume. Airplane shots are always fascinating; and I've painted & drawn many topographical maps (imaginary) so this kind of shot always pulls me in. It's always nice how land, from air, coalesces into greens or blues from the atmosphere. (Though it may be the plane's tinted window, in this case.) Thanks for sharing this, it's always great to see cities from the air; and I assume, to you, this has genuine personal significance. Amazing snow-like effects...
Great capture marilyn. Love the POV. I guess it pays to have a window seat!
I thought it was a snow scene! There's even a skier on the mountain!
