Description
In Madeira, a small and hence inconspicuous, but yet remarkable succulen plant is the Ice Plant ( Mesembryanthemum crystallinum).
The whole plant is covered with sparkling, water-filled, unicellular hairs, which cause the "icy" appearance!

Wonderful capture!!
Oh, this is just stunning! Fantastic closeup shot!
Exquisite!
I have discovered there are many varieties of ice plant. This is one that is really very stunning. I have another type in my yard that covers a large area and is typically found on the Pacific coast. I have yet to see it bloom but I see it used in highway landscaping and that is ALWAYS in bloom! But not nearly as beautiful as this.
Amazing close up!!
