Description
I've seen a lot of barns from Tennessee and thought it was high time I uploaded a well worn Kansas barn.
This was taken in late October 2008 just before the leaves began to turn.
Zoom in for a better view of the old wood and other barn details. Based upon the old stone work foundation, I'd estimate this barn to be from the late 1800s.
Here we are at another weekend already! Enjoy...
Thanks for looking...comments very welcome.

Very nicely done, Bill, an excellent photo of this charming barn! The roof has fared much better than the walls!
LOL Every time I see a green barn or one with a green roof, I think of Lynell. This is great and the color saturation is so perfect for her, too. Great job!
Beautiful shot of this old barn; it looks rather like it's being eaten away from the bottom. Great find!
What a neat picture of this old barn. Do you have any photos of round barns? I like barns and have seen some great round barns, but sadly, no photos of any of them.
Nice one, Bil. I see they used dressed stone in the foundation - must have been wealthy, or a lot of strong sons.
I adore old barns like this
Great capture and interesting make of the barn with part of it using what looks like pillars for support on the backside.
Fantastic shot of this old barn.
How very interesting! Seem a shame that they fall into disrepair.
Wonderful shot!!
A great shot Bill if this old dilapidated barn, excellent
This is a great shot Bill. Very nice.
Great shot. Judging from the roof, it still has a few good years left. ;-) Off the side of Mtn in a few head back to the flat land..ugh. Have a good one.
Very nice shot Bill!! Imagine the stories it could tell. :)
Great shot Bill and what a waste of a lovely old building.
Nice photo! Well captured
it is amazing how some structures remain upright when a well constructed building blows away in a Kansas twister.outstanding find and capture
Quite stunning capture Bill.Like others, I'm surprised how good the roof looks compared to the rest.A good cause for restoration.
Great capture Bill! I love old structures like this!
Such character, with its built in ventilation system. It is great to see it still standing though, and it looks to have a few more seasons in it yet.
Superlative POV and clarity in this display of the barn, which I assume, has seen much better days.
Oh aren't you sweet. I love this, the close up view is fantastic so much detail, and I love how you got both the front and side fencing to almost frame this beauty... Definitely one I would have stopped for... Thank you Bill!
A wonderful capture of this ole barn. Excellent. Aloha
A lovely old building! Looks like its on the verge of falling down. A fine snap and it's nice to see Summer again, mate! Rob.
Has seen better days but still looking lovely. How about the roofing? looks quite strong. love the capture, Bill!
Awesome shot, Bill! With so many dedications, I guess pretty soon Lynell will become the Master of the Barns!
It amazes me that these still exist over there. Here they would have been stripped for fire wood in a matter of days. Different cultures and locals for sure. Very well done, Bill. Cheers, Clive
Looks like some TLC is needed. Cool bard.
These renovations on your house still need finishing Bill. ;)
Great feeling in this one! This Architecture is right up my alley...
