Description
Hello All
OK these captures are not really gallery worthy for me but more of wanting to share our experience here...
For those of you that live up in the frozen tundra this might not be such a big deal but for me and my 11 year old Christina who has NEVER even been in snow let alone sub zero temps it was an amazing thing and to see her hair and eye lashes frozen white from just 20 minutes of sledding outside wow!!!. There was this ice fog rolling around turning everything in its path white!! the trees looked like they had been sprayed with powder ! It got down to -25 in some places there OMG!!!! so just to share these two shots of my little icy girl after her FIRST time sledding . I took a few macros of her here one is after 10 minutes ( the top) and then you can see her beanie hat has gone from black as night to almost white-grey as she is covered in ice. Her hair went stiff white LOL cracked me up . I was shaking without my gloves on here so it was hard to hold the camera still. This was around 3-4 pm and already growing dark out!
WE HAVE NEVER been in such frigid temps I was out there with the kids in my thin pants and California gloves and felt so CHILLED to the bone at one point. My sister brought me a hot latte right after i captured this here and it was the best warm drink i ever had and my salvation at that point. (HAHA one night when it was 18 below zero out I was curious just to see just how much I could take, so went out in stood on my sister's balcony in my thin nightgown and slippers to look at the stars . I almost didn't make it back in !!! I seriously got lightheaded and almost passed out OMG!!!!)
This was taken at her cousins school where they build these big snow banks for the kids to sled on at recess . What a different world it was there in Alaska to me!!!( This morning ,back in So CAL I walked outside with my coffee and sat in my glider - the sun was beaming down (75 degrees) its rays seemed to be kissing me like a warm hug - just took it all in and appreciated the warmth that I normally take for granted! )
Chrissy absolutely LOVED the snow and never complained once about being cold! My little trooper! (She says hello to you all btw loves the site here~!)
Thanks for all your time and comments !
*still trying to get caught up have the flu and then there this new spunky puppy needing lots of attention here so its going slowly.*
Love to all ,
(((BIG HUGS )))

Amazing, I have never seen this before, a really brilliant couple of shots, excellent
Beautiful composition. excellent capture
Those eyes are easy to read...Mom, I am having the most fun ever...and look at you with no gloves on! Neat photos. Family memories born right here. Bill
Hello my friend. So grateful for your comment of my pic of the owl, and my work I admire your creative mind and artistic eye. Sure you enjoy in the snow and beautiful nature. Hugs and Enjoy there. Luis
Amazing portraits of your lovely daughter, Kimmie ! These frekles make Chrissy really cute and irresistible... I'm so happy you are back here, my friend Warm winter hugs !
sooo nice!!! Wonderful photos!!!!!
Wonderful shot Kimmers, she looks cutie like that all tucked up and warm :)
FABULOUS IMAGES..... it's amazing how with so little 'skin' showing how much emotion is conveyed.
A great travel to Anchorage...and the temperature which gently goes down, without panel, and the snow which falls more and more on the ground and lies as a mantel more and more thick...I see you have experimented some imprudent exit during a night by -20°C...and you don't have any illness, and Chrissy the same...you have perhaps Inuit ancestors...hi hi hi !!!! what a great adventure ! I think these two shots contain for you marvelous and unbelievable stories ! EXCELLENT pictures
Adorable... LOL at the 'California gloves' they just don't make them right there do they?!?!
brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr but such a wonderful image, a real moment in time
LoL, yep that will happen, excellent shots. I worked on a Seismic Survey Crew mid 80s to early 90s every winter up northern Alberta and BC, always have had a full beard and moustache, working outside for any amount of time, breathing hard and come back in and the Moustache would be frozen to the Berd from my breath. Peace
nice :)
Strange seeing that many freckles in a winter scene. Folks who live in this land of ice and snow tend to have their freckles faded by the time snow falls and the world ices up...great contrast that.. ...
Really great shot - looks very cold.
It looks very cold to me, excellent capture....well done.
What fantastic images Kimmers with the icy detail on her lashes and hair!!! Boy - that's cold!!! :)

No one can ever blame you for posting your little girl. The lighting is very nice and interesting, especially in the first pic. Now I'm having the urge to post my boy lol Get well soon
Looks cold... Excellent capture...
Wonderful story and images, Kimmie! Terrific experience for one who has never been in such cold before. I saw -50 one time when I was a kid, and am grateful to be in a warmer climate now. :) Terrific lighting on her face, especially the top photo!
Looks like Sweden right now! :-) Glad you're having fun, if a bit chilled - :-) - and as for the pics - gotta love those eyes and those freckles, what a stunning girl she is! Gun aka redheadgrrl
