Description
a project I started some days ago...smile... I do love the paintings of Caspar David Friedrich a lot and this one especially, so I tried to copy him as best as I could which ment modelling the church and entrance ruins in vue and creating a monk silhouette in vue and than trying to get all this in a picture as near to the original as I could. So this is my first try.
I combined my work with the original so you can compare.
What do you think?

Great work on this picture. Remember to scale the munks!!!!! :)
wunderschöne Arbeit! Hoffentlich bekommst Du keine "Schwierigkeiten" wie jeroni mit seiner Miro-Serie, die er aus der Gallerie entfernen musste.....
Wonderful re-creation....I would up the fog and haze in atmosphere and you will have it perfect.
I think your job is stunning. I prefer the details of your church's texture. Best view in full size !
I knew I had seen this before you did a super job on it top notch work.
you did super on this
Wonderfully done!
EXCELLENT!!!!!!
fascinanting remake... like a lot!
An excellent work for a first try...
Very beautiful scene, style and mood. Stunning colours and work !!!! 5*
Both are beautiful, but I think I like yours better, it brings me closer to the church ruins, I like the lighting better too, the atmosphere is different also, a little more eerie, supernatural, then the original, I like that too.
Fabulous work!!!
I'd say you did about as well as it is possible to do. I'm not familiar with Friedrich's work, but I intend to rectify that soon.
I think you did an excellent job I really like it
You did such a great job with this! I really like your version. The colors are great and it has such a warm feeling. Awesome!
Das ist wirklich grossartig, ich hatte auch schon mal die Idee so ein Bild im Stil von C. D. Friedrich zu machen.
