Description
Hello All !
Just got back from my first trip to Alaska ( where I got to visit my Sister Joelle and her beautiful family). It was mainly a family time so there wasn't many photo opportunity's (only 4 hours light a day up there so we were indoors most of the time) , but one early evening my sis took me on a spontaneous drive up to where her first home was and her property near a place called flat top in the hills looking over Anchorage. It was -18 out and so we didn't get out of the car . Just as we got up to this view point I said "stop here"! Right then my camera battery died , and so I got my old Nikon 7900 out rolled down the car window and shot this view here . You could see for 300 miles out to the mountains ( if you look carefully you can see them out in the distance in pink ) . What a different world there from where I live in southern California! We had a wonderful trip Christina even learned how to ski for her first time (she had a few runs on the bunny hills then said boring and then went right to the top and came down fearlessly~! ). The sub zero temps were something I have never experienced at one point it got down to - 25 brrrrr I have a picture of Chrissy's hair and eye lashes frozen white with ice from when she went sledding- boy, she really got initiated for her first time in snow ,so weird to come back to record highs near 90s temps here in southern Cal.
Anyways just wanted to say sorry I haven't been around and wanted to pop in here and say hi to you all and let you know what I have been up to !
I am looking forward to seeing your beautiful work and getting caught up around here! have missed you all big time !!!!
Love to all

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SHOT.++5
Simply gorgeous
Impressive Kim !!!
this is like a fary tale or fantasy land here. super looking
This is such a great shot! It looks like you have captured some of the inlet as well. Yes, the temps were down extremely low these past couple of weeks which is not the north for us.
What a fantastic photoshot of this beautiful winterlandscape, you did a awesome job here.....great capture.....well done.
Wow !!! Great scene and capture !!! Love the mood and colours !! Excellent 5* !!!
a dreamy shot, saturated in vibrant blues which seem to come from 'inside' the snow as much as from its surface; and the city/town below feels like a series of gentle blueish brushstrokes (with subtle touches of red here & there). Your background melds water & sky almost as a continuous beautiful pageant, and the overall feel is both gentle and sweeping, with a feeling of real intimacy. I'll take Gayle's words on the view, since she's 'to the manner born'; and if this is what you saw, I'll be sure to go there the next time I have time off. Magical shot, & wonderful to see you back. (I have a few to catch up on myself...) You can be away for weeks but when you return, there is no doubt it's you behind the lens...
Beautiful But it looks cold as Ky except we don't have the snow Hugs Susan~
What a wonderful poscard this can give !!!
